The Story of The Awakening Body
The Awakening Body is a therapeutic private practice which provides a variety of Sacred Sensual consulting and experiential sessions to individuals as well as couples, partner pairs and other alternative relationships. The basis of this work utilizes a healing modality known as Sexological Bodywork in conjunction with an eclectic collection of indigenous spiritualities which consider human sexuality sacred and powerful.
The Awakening Body was founded by EveLynn early in 1999, during a period in her life when her own awareness of self collided with what had been predicted as her life path. An avid nudist/naturist, she had spent the last decade involved in body awareness issues, politically involved in educating and crusading for clothing optional recreational opportunities throughout the United States. She lived in a nudist community in Florida for several years and discovered the wholeness of understanding her physical being as a true temple which housed her soul. As she unfolded and shed the shame she had been taught to harbor surrounding her naked body, she discovered a new sense of freedom and oneness within the natural rhythms of life. Within this clothes-free environment, this mother, grandmother and spiritual soul discovered a grand new sense of her divine feminine, the exquisite beauty of her body and the perfect nature of her supposed imperfections. And this insight was shared by most who lived within this clothing-optional lifestyle. Gender and age and race and status and physical attributes, for the most part, became meaningless and mundane.
Yet something was missing. At every turn in this open and natural environment - by which ever term one called it, nudism or naturism - the body was considered sacred and without shame EXCEPT when it came to the genitals and their relationship to S.E.X and the act of "having" it. Any demonstration of or reference to the sexual self was literally denied and downplayed in order to prove to the world that nudity and sex did not go hand-in-hand. Nudity was for all practical purposes disassociated with sexuality within nudist/naturist philosophies.
That which was missing was the acknowledgement that within this physical miracle called "body" resides a powerful force, a force fueled by love and passion, a force distributed throughout the entire being by breath and joy. This force, known as sexual or orgasmic energy was soon to become known to EveLynn as life force energy – the preverbal Fountain of Youth.
Disillusioned by the seemingly hypocrisy within this clothes free utopia, EveLynn began to refocus her passion to discover ways to re-integrate the physical and spiritual aspects of human sexuality. Over the next few years she studied a variety of philosophies and practices within which, centuries ago, one innately lived in a Sacred and Sensual way, utilizing sexual energy as a means to access one’s own divinity. Tantra, Taoism, Quodoshka, Wicca, and various other indigenous practices, practiced from corners of our World, were incorporated into her awareness of the physical body.
Her personal journey became her life-path and she called this path "Sacred Sensuality."
And she begin to share with others the magic of her own discovery, and soon this sharing became known as "an experience beyond massage" and her private practice The Awakening Body was born.
